To further strengthen the construction of a high-caliber talent team, promote academic innovation and international cooperation, and enhance the research influence of our institute, it has been decided upon deliberation to launch the application process for the “Scholar of the Peace Award Program.” The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

I. Program Introduction

The “Scholar of the Peace Award Program” is an honorary program established by the Hong Kong Research Institute of Technology for high-level talents from renowned universities, research institutions, and enterprises worldwide. It aims to flexibly introduce outstanding talents from home and abroad to the institute for collaborative research, academic exchange, and joint training. Selected recipients will be conferred the title of “Scholar of the Peace” or “Scholar of the Peace Young Scholar” and will enjoy corresponding honors and platform support.

II. Application Requirements

(1) Basic Requirements

  1. Abide by the laws and regulations of Hong Kong, and possess sound academic ethics and professional conduct;

  2. Have significant academic influence in relevant disciplinary fields, or have achieved outstanding accomplishments in industrial technology R&D, technology transfer, and related areas;

  3. Have a clear intention to collaborate with our institute, with plans to conduct substantive cooperation around research directions of mutual interest.

  4. Meet the relevant conditions set forth in the “Implementation Measures of the Scholar of the Peace Award Program of the Hong Kong Research Institute of Technology.”

(2) Priority Fields

Priority support will be given to strategic emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, advanced materials, clean energy, biomedicine, and financial technology.

III. Application Procedures

  1. Recommendations from academicians, committees, academic divisions of the Hong Kong Research Institute of Technology, and Scholar of the Peace with nomination qualifications. Applicants shall complete the “Scholar of the Peace Program Proposal” and provide relevant supporting materials.

  2. Expert review. Experts in the relevant fields will review the application materials and issue recommendation opinions.

  3. Institute evaluation. The institute will organize experts to evaluate the application materials and determine the final list of selected candidates.

IV. Application Timeline

Application materials must be submitted to the Science and Technology Professional Committee before May 30, 2026 (one electronic copy and one paper copy). Late submissions will not be accepted.
