Executive Director of the Centre for Legal Innovation and Digital Society at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Professor and Outstanding Fellow of the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and also the Founding Director of the Centre. Previously, he served as a jointly appointed Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law and the College of Commerce of National Chengchi University, and as a jointly appointed Associate Research Fellow at the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation, Academia Sinica. He has also held visiting professorships at the University of Tokyo, National Taiwan University, Singapore Management University, and Washington University in St. Louis, among others. He holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (JSD) from Stanford University and a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard University, with expertise in intellectual property law and digital technology and AI law. In 2025, he received the Outstanding Scholar Award in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong.
